What dreams may come..

“How’re you?”

“I’m okay..”

”So lukewarm?! What happened, my darling?”

“Not much..well, you know sometimes how have a weird dream? And when you wake up, the only thing you remember is it being really weird, and then you spend all day trying to remember why it was so weird?”

“Yea..pretty much like all my dreams..and then something happens that reminds you? And you wish you never remembered?”

“Yes..it’s terribly frustrating. It’s a frustrating way to live, if you ask me. Frustrating, yet enlightening. I guess that’s why they say ‘Ignorance is Bliss’

“It totally is. What was this dream then?”

“I can't completely recall it but I know it involved a few people and a rat dying and it made me cry a lot- in the dream, I mean. And when I woke up, I actually found my pillow drenched with tears.”

“Youch.”

“I don’t remember much, but I remember asking a man ‘How do you know the rat is dying?’ and the horrible man smiled and said ‘You’ll know only after it is dead.’ It struck me as a very mean thing to say.”

“Dreams should only be nice and happy.”

”They should, shouldn’t they? I mean we’ve got enough crap to deal with in the real world.”

“Tell me about it.”

A haunting line she read somewhere sprang to mind – ‘When you dream, sometimes you remember. When you wake, you always forget.’
She shook her head in confusion, as if that would help to rearrange all the pieces into something even vaguely comphrehensive.

Then she carried about her business.
And forgot.
Like she did- every other day.

Personally, my exceptionally weird dreams are the nice ones. And I do mean weird.

I once remember waking up with the words 'it's a cat, with jelly in it' on my lips. I also had a mental image of a living, breathing cat -- maybe slightly larger than average -- made of transparent plastic. The insides, instead of being made of, well, cat, consisted of little individually packaged tubs of jelly. There was a zipper along the cat's dorsum that allowed one to access said jelly.

And I don't even particularly like jelly. Or cats, for that matter.

Then she stopped eating toasted cheese sandwiches before bedtime.

And the dreams stopped.

OY! I haven't had a good dream for over a decade... I kid you not! And recently, they are all about my crowns popping out and my mouth bleeding and my being in pain... comes from all the teeth trouble and my anxieties, I know but I would rather not dream! I wanna sleep!!!

As for your words... magical!

(1) apparently guys think about sex every two minutes
(2) most guys wake up with a stiffy.
logic would dictate that we thus dream about sex every night.
ah.. it's good to be male!
[except Nath above.. hmm.. animals and jelly.. oo-er]

Hey I can TOTALLY relate to this incident cos it happened with me as well..I woke upin the middle of the night to find my pillow drenched in tears and my eyes moist but I could remember it quite vividly….and since they say that dreams reflect whats goin on in ur mind ur life ..and all..so I could pretty much figure out to a certain extent why I’d had that dream. And that dream stayed with me over the next few days..so much so that it was my 2nd entry on my blog..lol! anyways ..take care..:)

Was that conversation a part of a dream too?

I once had a dream where I found my dogs watching a movie in my bathroom! I asked them how soon it would be before the movie ended, and they said, 'two months'.

mizb - u havent a had a good dream in a decade?! u know chances are u probably have had some nice dreams but maybe you just dont remember em! i read somewhere that people who are on vacation (ie, very relaxed) tend to remember their dreams more than when theyre in their daily routine..
ouuuch bleeding gums! aww -hug- *mahi sends happy dreams miz b's way* :D

sac - 3 words: sex-crazed.
:P

exclusively - im STILL confused as to why a rats death made me cry so much! dont u just hate these sorta dreams?

abhi - maybe its a sign that u drink too much when u start dreaming about being hungover hahaha

raindrop - nope the convo was a real life one, but now that i re-read it it does sound a bit...surreal? i dont know..but i can understand why ud think it was part of the dream..
hmm 2 months...did something happen 2 months after the dream?
