Reason Is Treason

You know how sometimes its absolutely impossible to remain objective when it comes to a judgement? Coz there are just way too many people projecting their views, hopes and aspirations?

And you know how it is when you're pretty sure you think you've attained that objective state and you're good and ready to make a sound decision, even THEN there's this nagging feeling at the back of your mind that you're not completely a 100% objective? That your point of view is being coloured by those of people close to you?

Also, you know how it kinda stinks that you find yourself losing perspective every now and then? Especially when you know where you stand and what circumstances are like but EVEN then- you find yourself indulging in make-believe and you start absent mindedly groping around for your rose tinted glasses and you start (*gasp* *shudder*) imagining yourself as a character from your favourite romantic comedy movie.
Perspective suddenly become like a feather dancing in the wind, and the more you try to reach out for it, the more you realise its perfectly beautiful just flying away higher and higher. But you still have to try anyway?

Yea. That really sucks.

Yeh, that does suck. Except I dont imagine me from a romantic comedy movie. I imagine me wearing black leather, with guns dangling, saying, ``go ahead, make my day...''

LORD!!! It's like you've been watching me! Everything you said about losing perspective every now and then fits what I'm presently going through like a jigsaw puzzle coming together! Yeah, and when perspective knocks on my brain's door, I either consider it and do something about it... which doesn't last too long, or I ignore it and say, "Come again another day, lil' Surbhi wants to play!"

I'm guessing this is just a phase... I don't mind popping the rosy bubble in which I reside in... but at the same time I want to be let out slowly and not so abruptly! Ahh... this truly STINKS!

I know what you mean Mahi.

For example, it's so much simpler to spot warning signals (however subtle) from someone's behaviour when they're dating your friend but virtually impossible to see till much later when it's you they're dating.

Generally, the more personal something gets, the more it tends addle the ability to look at it rationally and from the right perspective.

Oh dear! Another one of those only too familiar moments that happen to happen a lot. And have no answers, solutions or hope. My way of dealing with this: Wash your hair with your favorite shampoo, wear your favorite jeans and sandals, carry your favorite bag, wear sunglasses and step out to face the world. Nothing like an amazing boost of self-confidence to face all doubts and dilemma!
:p

sirisha - true.. when the issue is concerning you objectivity is sometimes there but its worse when near and dear ones are embroiled in the situation too...thats waaaay harder and waaaay messier!

vijayeta - welcome to the blog! :) and girl, i think i like the way you think! a boost of self confidence seriously works wonders :D (that or chocolate:P)

I suggest you stay perspectively objective subjective to your gut perspective that is absent mindedly but indulgenlty having you reach out for those rose tinted glasses (awrite I give up I have no clue wat I am talkin abt but then you started it ;) )

@Megha: Lush is awesome. Another feel good recommendation - Catwalk's SEXED UP (by TIGI). Trust me, the feel good factor kicks in the monet you read the label!
